Although you’re amazingly beautiful in this video.. I think you could cut down on the fake American accent. It’s really quite annoying and it makes you do this weird expression thing with your mouth. Be proud of who you are and how you speak – trying to speak like something else and failing badly at it makes me wince when watching you speak. Just a tip.

@Just a Tip - Agree with rocky, dun understand why singaporeans like to bash on singaporeans who speak good english? There ARE singaporeans who speak well without singlish accent! And from what i noticed dawn has lived overseas a lot and her frens are pretty cosmopolitan. Is it an insecure thing huh? Just cos xiaxue looks and sounds like an ah lian she tries to get her followers to slam dawn for being the opposite.
Dun go hating on a girl becos she’s beautiful and has class and poise.

Hey you look good even in DIM light! You really are beautiful in a cute way, it doesn’t matter if you are plastic or natural or whatever! And the best thing is your prettiness is effortless. You could still look mad chio even with mad expressions and little to no makeup. XX tho, need the right clothes, the right expression, the right setting and BRIGHT lights! You both are awesome anyways!

@Just a Tip - That’s just how I always speak (except to singapore uncles & aunties and cabbies haha then I throw in the Singlish tones), I don’t purposely put on any particular accent. I agree that yes perhaps I do kind of sound like I’m from all over the place, but that is how I’ve lived my life and the effect of various friends and influences around me.
I’m not going to pretend I speak perfect American/British, but please note that neither am I going to pretend to speak in a more Singlish manner just because you expect it of me.

I think you look lovely in this video, i’m usually quite skeptical of blog pictures due to the magic of Photoshop but you cant Photoshop a video. Plus, we all get to see how lovely and sweet you are.

I’m not “bashing” anyone, it was a personal observation and point-of-view, I’m quite sure I am entitled to that. 3. I’m not “hating” on anyone, including Dawn – and yes I agree, she does have class and poise. 4. I’m not related to XX in any way, nor did I intend on doing any “slamming” for her. 5. If Dawn says that that is how she usually speaks, then I take my comment back. As I said, it was a personal observation and to me the words sounded a little twisted and I still maintain that it makes you do these funny expressions with your mouth. But again, if that is how you speak, that is how you speak! No harm intended, nor am I “expecting” anything from you.

I can barely hear ur voice coz too much “control” in the accent and body gestures.
and ive nvr heard singaporeans pronounce KL as KUALA “LAMPUER” before. ure the 1st. well, the last time i heard KUALA LAMPUER was from Justin Bieber during his last visit. i believe u r just like any other Sg-ean/M’sian/Indonesian Chinese.. i dont think adjusting the pronunciation is necessary to make the fake accent more effective.
