Plain Vanilla
Often, I like to keep my look simple, unadorned and fuss-free.
Some might find it too “vanilla” – in other words boring.
But many a times, the overlooked Plain Vanilla is a sweetly familiar flavor, straightforward, unpretentious, free of conv0lution.
I’m guessing that is the story behind the name of a cute little cupcake shop my friend Nat and I discovered in Holland Village last weekend!
On the second floor of a shop house sharing a space with a hair salon (cut, dye & some tea anyone?), the tiny bakery is run by a chatty couple. Woody interiors and colorful displays of ingredients with small potted plants lend it a rustic, country sort of feel. You see the ovens, the flour, the heavenly baking mess in full glory – giving one a warm sentiment that you’re about to partake of home-made goodness made with TLC.
The 8 flavors of cupcakes to choose from looked delicious.
We tried some. They’re really sweet, but I have a huge sweet tooth so I was perfectly happy.
My favorite was the Cinnamon Brown Sugar!

If you were a cross-eyed, bow legged, foul-mouth, mentally unstable female dog (bitch) hated by people, you would also hate DY. Did you see DY mentioning anywhere that she hates xiaxue? That’s because DY cannot be bothered with the midget.
Xiaxue is jealous and obsessive of DY…. and she has a funny way of hiding it.. ***screwloose***
I hope she doesn’t commit suicide.
