• Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge Party

  
  In Kuala Lumpur, for one of the biggest parties of the year!

  First I want to show you my hotel room, because I thought it was really pretty and princessy.
  

  

  

  

  I was put up at Palace of the Golden Horses near KL’s MINES. Not in the city center but closer to the party venue.

  True to it’s regal name, stallions featured everywhere. Lamps. Table legs. Bathroom toiletries.

  Night falls and singer Reshmonu gave a few of us a lift in his car from the hotel. We got very lost on the way because this place is really far out!
  The scene was already buzzing when we arrived.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  The appearance of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes™ F1™ driver, Jenson Button, undoubtedly contributed to the excitement.

  

  

  Button, who won the season-opening race in Melbourne, Australia, also signed the JOHNNIE WALKER_® “JoinThePact.com” signature wall to pledge to Never Drink and Drive.

  Two lucky Facebook Grand Prize contest winners stepped onto the massive LED stage to meet Jenson personally, as well as ask him a question of their choice each. Jenson charmingly answered their questions, and signed exclusive JOHNNIE WALKER_® and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes™ team merchandise, presented by my pal and brand manager Charles James Wright.
  
  

  

  

  JOHNNIE WALKER_® set-up an experimental bar aptly named BLACK FLAVOUR LAB, where World Class mixologists treated guests to the familiar JOHNNIE WALKER_® BLACK LABEL_® with new and evocative serves using the theme of green coconut, unlocking the signature big bold flavours of JOHNNIE WALKER_® in a fresh way. Guests were amazed to find that coconut water can really amplify some of the complex flavours of BLACK LABEL_® in a way they all had not expected but most enjoyed. Guests were also given a visually-arresting serve involving smoke and dry ice, as well as an extremely popular batch-made coconut and BLACK LABEL_® sorbet.

  

  As usual, the JOHNNIE WALKER_® BLACK CIRCUIT LOUNGE featured an array of cool, interactive digital experiences, from RFID-enabled invitations that allowed guests to instantly upload their arrival and various party activities on Facebook, to fun photo booths and an ultra-realistic video simulation called Drive Of A Lifetime that put you right into the seat of a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes™ F1™ driver preparing for a race, with the resulting personalised video instantly uploaded on Facebook as well.

  My astounded face: World Champion Close-Up Magician Shawn Farquhar (right), flown in all the way from Canada, mesmerised guests with some incredible sleight-of-hand and some truly amazing illusions while entertaining from table to table. This man had cards coming out of his mouth, and pendants instantaneously made from fires, right before my very eyes! :O
  

   

  JOHNNIE WALKER_® GOLD LABEL RESERVE™ was introduced to party guests by revealing a luxurious GOLD CELEBRATION BAR at the event. 

  

  We had a chance to toast with the extravagant flavours of this luxurious blend and even try the whisky in exquisite cocktails such as the Fresh Gold served in a champagne flute.

  The JOHNNIE WALKER_® GOLD LABEL RESERVE™ arrived at the BLACK CIRCUIT LOUNGE for the first time for all guests to enjoy a special spectacular show.. This surprise began with a specially put together soundtrack during Smith Agent Smith’s set that featured a contemporary mix of tracks with “Gold” hints and references, kicking off with Kanye West’s Gold Digger. 

  

  

  This song was followed by a flash mob of dancers that suddenly removed their outer attire to reveal gold outfits within and a kabuki-styled curtain drop on stage that revealed sumptuous gold drapes where the moment before they had been black. The whole sequence ended with a gold confetti blizzard that had guests awash in a sea of gold and JOHNNIE WALKER_® Brand Ambassadors and service staff providing guests with JOHNNIE WALKER_® GOLD LABEL RESERVE™ cocktails and bottle service through the rest of the night.
