Was invited to Christian Dior's Fashion Week party.

Charlize Theron was the special guest in attendence.

I think not only is she a terrific actress, she is absolutely beautiful like what I imagine an angel would look like. My friend astutely observed, "her face is perfectly symmetrical!"

I met another celebrity I admire.....
KATY PERRY!
She was Hot & Cold... made me want to Kiss a Girl..
*But my most favorite song of hers has got to be "Thinking of You"
It was refreshing to see her out of her usual vintage 50s getup, and she looked great! That is her stylist being cheeky and peeking out from behind us. Haha, extraaaa....
Then later on, we also met Alexa Chung, from MTV.
This is one quirky, cool chick. Did you know she is half Chinese? Where did those Chinese genes go? I would never have been able to tell!
Other assortments of loud characters....

Famed fashion photographer Arthur Elgort ,who has shot many covers for leading magazines like Vogue, was in-store taking portraits of Dior clients, which he personally signed. To be eligible, those clients had to spend a miniumum of $2500 that evening. Whoa, definitely not your Kodak snapshot.

There were countless fashionistas in attendence, even on the streets outside. I wanted to take photos of all these fashionable folk, but thought I should get a professional looking DSLR camera first before I ask them ;)
Seeing all these people really reminded me how and why New York is the fashion mecca of the world. Sad to say, I do think Singaporeans in general have quite some way to go in terms of style.
A peek into the Dior store:

Dior's jewellery collection:

This precious necklace is going for nearly $1 MILLION!
Adored this clutch and it's gold-bronze metallic finishings

Fashion Week fun!
Back over in the motherland two weeks ago....
Attended the gala premiere of a Singaporean production - horror flick "Blood Ties"
 Beware! I bite.
With Kenneth, the male lead. Nearly forgot I had first met him during his Oak3 production house days
Met a friend Jeslene, who had a scene in the film

My breath was slightly taken away when I entered the theatre, GV Grand at Vivocity. It was expansive and lush, I had never been in such a large cinema before.
Director of the Singapore Film Commission got up to make a long speech. Twice. Once in Mandarin, next in English. If you only understand one language, then it's fine, but when you understand both.... well I focused on eating my curry puffs, haha
Wuxia pian veteran and HongKong silver screen legend Cheng Pei-Pei was there. She plays the mother in the film.

This was her in her younger gongfu heroine days. She was hot, ass-kicking stuff. Akin to a female Bruce Lee.
Some of you may remember her better as the villainess Jade Fox in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon"
I hate to say this, but I thought "Blood Ties" was quite disappointing and lacklustre, although the twist at the end was pretty cool. The storyline itself wasn't very compelling, some scenes were a little cliche, and it couldn't decide whether it was more "Infernal Affairs" or "The Eye".
If you have a thing for gore (many um, male organs end in a bloody mess) and Asian style horror though, go support the local film industry and catch it. I just think Singapore should quit producing all these horror flicks, how many have we had already? The Maid, Rule #1, now this..... It is such a tired genre. I'm sure we have much more to offer the world!
When the lovebirds leave you one of their feathers, you're in luck amor ♥
