| | Farewell Cousin
She left tonight. I gave her room and board for 2 weeks :) It kind of felt like the old days, when we were young and stayed over at each others' homes playing "cooking" and board games.
This time they were games of the more grown-up sort - dining, shopping, guy talk, and watching our favorite cartoons and shows like Southpark and 30 Rock.
As usual she did manage to traumatize some people but I guess that's her.
Always nice to catch up with family again after so long.

Love the old cobble-stone streets of Soho.
Roaming 5th Avenue.
Thought the Chanel vintage Jumbo is the largest 2.55 around? Think again!
Lunch at Jean George's (1 Central Park West, at 60th St.) The cousin liked very much.
Sashimi, tomato soup, corn cheddar appetizer
Sesame crab toast, miso-mustard, Asian pear and Shiso
 Salmon, apple-celeric puree, watercress gremolata
Grilled beef tenderloin and crunchy potatoes, tomato compote with chilies & garlic
 Strawberry-themed dessert plate
Chocolate-themed dessert plate.... and those stringy brown things are "CHOCOLATE NOODLES"! Very odd to say the least.
Not Michelin-rated, but yummy Japanese in St. Marks, she liked too. It was a cold cold night, when we all thought MotherWeather had skipped fall and went straight to winter.
Something about the elderly is always so endearing and cute to me. I just want to reach out and hug them. This white-haired man was playing interesting music in the subway station. I don't quite know what all those toys are for but they added a quirky touch.
Another one of my favorites: Stanton Social in the lower east side.
Chocolate spiked pancakes with orange maple syrup
Attack of the French onion soup dumplings with lots of melted cheese!
A dinner + jazz band accompaniment at Garage in the West Village.
......And I was just getting used to having a roommate. Adieu~
