Whoopeedeedoo, I finally have my laptop and recovered data back, so expect to see me blogging more regularly again!
♦ Tiger Translate Final Event in London ♦
But first… if you missed out on what I covered previously, check out the first three installments of the series here:
So the end begins with a big bang at Hearn Street carpark, in the deadly hip Shoreditch district.
Guests were invited to enjoy chilled refreshing Tiger Beer and experience the work of some of the most progressive and cutting edge artists in Asia combined with those from the West, in a relaxed, fun environment.
The cool London evening continued into the night as the artists completed their works to the beat of funky music, visual remixes of the artwork and city scenes to create a dense interplay of sound and image… which also got everyone in the mood for partying
Pure Evil adds his finishing touches to the explosively eye-popping London cab that he worked on with Mee Wong and Ben Qwek.
Adorable Kenny about to drive off into the sunset in the “Mongolian Express”.
Not so fast though… the bid for this unique car ran into thousands of pounds!
People watch on…
as the AKAs work on their mural…
A swig of the golden brew to recharge and re-inspire
The AKAs field questions in front of their finished mural. To further stimulate the creative sense, there was a customisation area, where guests got to play Picasso:
Collage of everyone’s artwork. Very nice if I say so myself!
One of the highlights on the evening was the Secret War.
Two pairs of artists. A blank vast of canvas.
One hour to win.
What would they come up with…?
And the spectators continue watching in anticipation…
From nothing to something fantastcially incredible!
I love how they snidely slime each other through their drawings.
The judges have their say, the crowd has their input as they cheer their favorite team on.
Who won?

I’m glad fellow countryman Ben Qwek’s side emerged victorious! That’s him the scarf man in the center.Out-of-this-world beatboxer Reeps One gave a riotous performance. Hearing those kind of sounds being emitted by a human being, I truly believe he somehow swallowed a robotic creature at some point in his life.
In addition, a lively, pumped up show from Tiger Translate band competition winners Circle 22 of Thailand!
I had a good time chatting with people from all walks of life at the party. Kenny and I also met some lovely folks from Malaysia and Singapore there who follow our blogs. What a pleasant surprise
And everyone danced the rest night away to the gritty mixes of the DJs.
All in all. Demonstrating that in art we all speak the same language, the artists overcame language barriers and time constraints and fantastically translated their vision of modern Asia through a range of mediums. The final products are one-off pieces of art, juxtaposing contrasting styles.
The cultrual fusion showdown certainly flipped the creative compass, redrew the musical map and forged an international alliance of art!
Tiger AKAs and their work have received widespread attention from leading media such as Creative Review, Designer, Dazed & Confused, Surface, and Arena. Their work compiled in a special series of Tiger Translate art books on sale at bookstores worldwide.
Whether you an artist or art appreciator, are keen to learn more or take part in next year’s Tiger Translate, visit their website www.tigertranslate.com where you can view their galleries and more.

On another note, sounds funny but I recently got myself a full length mirror for my apartment.
It was a strange relief bringing it back home. I don’t know how I had been living for so long dressing but only seeing myself top up! Ahh… maybe that explains why before this people looked at me up and down accompanied with raised eyebrows, haha.
How was your Halloween this year? I enjoyed mine tremendously! Spent one week celebrating in L.A, and the next back here in New York. Was awesome fun. Pictures and details of those devilishly demonic nights to come soon.
p.s I have a big ulcer and it hurts
