  • Advertorial Review

Not only have I been eating healthier these days (less meat, more greens and fruits), even my
makeup and skin care regime has gone healthy.

For a while now I’ve pampered my skin with the good stuff – orgranic, au naturale stuff!

ELISHACOY is a well-known brand from Korea, the land of beauties with glowing skin I
could kill for. But thankfully I don’t have to go to such lengths now :P Elishacoy skincare is
organic – no harsh or strange chemicals – it uses only plants of the highest qualities, Western
herbs extracts, as well as traditional Asian resources, all combined by  modern cutting edge
process. All products of Elishacoy enable skin to self-renew through phyto therapy, the
    essence of botanical healing.

No makeup. After using Elishacoy skin has improved.

Here are my top Elishacoy picks, in a 5 step regime:

    1.     BB CREAM

First I use the Premium Gold Mineral BB cream for achieving that healthy radiant look
    when I go out.

BB stands for "Blemish Balm". It originated in Germany and was used to protect
sensitive skin after chemical peels or other laser treatments; now BB cream is better
known as a makeup product that hides blemishes while clarifying the skin tone. It first
took Korea by storm and soon the rest of Asia.

Apparently, this BB cream by ElishaCoy is so good it was the first Korean BB product
    to gain popularity in Japan!

With so many benefits in a foundation tube, it is almost is nothing short of a miracle
    product.

Functions: 17 in 1 BB Cream (Detox + Whitening + Wrinkle Care + Organic Sun
    Screen + Makeup Base + Foundation + Concealer + Moisturizer + Brightening + Lifting
& Firming + Soothing + Pore tightening + Skin breathing + Skin balancing + Smoother
skin + Even skin tone + Trouble Care)

    Benefits:

      1. Contains organic compound-free ingredient – SPF 45 sunscreen UV diffusing agent
which is non-greasy, skin-friendly & blocks off UV rays effectively unlike other
sun screen which absorbs UV rays which will further damage your skin.
      2. Gold extracts which detoxifies skin, promotes healthy blood circulation & natural
        radiance
      3. Nutrition-rich caviar, royal jelly and deep sea water for glowing skin
      4. Reduces fine lines, freckles & dark circles
      5. Wraps around the skin for 12 hours to complete a High Definition Nude Makeup
        effect.
      6. Eco-certified organic product

Smooth the BB cream over face and over red areas.

Now complexion is smooth, even, fair and glowing!

I can wear this BB cream for long hours on end but not feel like it is doing any damage to my
    skin. Plus no break outs.

    2.ALWAYS TATTOO DUAL EYELINER

I believe one of the best makeup steps you can do is to accentuate the eyes. Your peepers are
the window to your soul, so make them as big as possible for that cute guy to look into ;)

ElishaCoy’s Always Tattoo Dual Eyeliner is very, very long-lasting throughout the whole day–
almost like having a temporary tattoo! But the great thing is that it washes off without leaving
ugly stains unlike some other eyeliners.

What wins me over about this eyeliner is the dual tips, one side is a liquid brush pen, the other
is a slightly shimmery shadow liner!

    First line the upper eyes.

If you’re going out in the day, you stop here for a more natural look.

But if you’re planning to paint the town red at night, then I really like the smoky eye…

Continue by lining the lower edge of your eyes with the pen.

Now here is where the shadow tip comes in:

The shadow liner is perfect for smudging the harsh lines from the drawn liquid eyeliner,
creating a softer, smoky and more alluring look.

See the difference between the left and the right? =Va va voom.

    3.BB ALL-In-ONE CLEANSER

Removing makeup every night is essential.

I like this cleanser from ElishaCoy because it is a Massage Gel, Cleansing oil, Foam Cleanser
& Skin Treatment all in one.

Removing all remaining traces of makeup and cleanse the entire face thoroughly with the BB
    all in one Cleanser.

    Benefits:

      1. Massage gel helps to promote blood circulation, thus, giving your face a natural
        radiance.
      2. One-stop cleansing which enhances speedy removal of makeup without removing
        moisture in your skin.
      3. Lather with water and it becomes foam cleanser which will completely remove
sebum and makeup residues. It also deep cleanses and unclogs the pores effectively.
      4. P.h 5.5  is nature’s mild way for deep cleansing and will not irritate or damage your
        skin unlike other cleansers.
      5. Prolonged use of this cleanser will enhance baby smooth skin. Just 1g of this
cleanser will draw 6000ml of moisture to your skin!!
      6. Eco-certified organic product

    4. AQUA Whitening Pudding

After face is cleansed, I slather on some of this heavenly goodness:

Like it’s name suggests, the texture of this is like “pudding”, a springy but soft jelly-like cream
that immediately penetrates skin. Feels really nice!

This is the “powerful” step in my regime, why?

Firstly, it contains Arbutin – the effective natural skin lightening ingredient that is approved
and considered safe, unlike Hydroquinone, the other skin bleaching agent that has been banned
    by the FDA.

Yes, I’m on a quest to be fair ;)

    Other benefits:

      1. Reduce freckles & dark spots
      2. Powerful moisturizer, supplies water & moisture all day long
      3. Activates the regeneration of skin cells in 2 weeks interval and peels off damaged
keratin off, thus, enhances a crystal clear smooth skin.
      4. Gently firms and lifts skin to prevent sagging skin
      5. Contains shape memory polymer which will reinstates the surface of the skin &
tightens pore so as to reveal a more elastic and smoother young looking skin.

    5. SELF DETOX EYECREAM

When you emphasize your eyes with makeup all the time, it is vital to take care of your eye
area as well. For that, this eye cream is amazing. I applied a pearl bead-equivalent volume to
the eye rims every morning and night.

It moisturizes the eye area with a patented nano vita silk ingredient! (Pat. No. 10-0652122)

It contains the Botox ingredient Acetyl hexapeptide which will fill your skin around your eyes
    making it look younger.

Haloxyl is the top ingredient only found in the best eye creams. It is proven to promote blood
circulation, thus, reducing / relieving dark circles and puffy eyes.

And of course…. It is an eco-certified organic product.

After applying the moisturizer and eyecream, my face is practically sighing with bliss. I’m
ready to go to bed and wake up glowing and radiant, thanks to ElishaCoy.

  • Advertorial Feature

    I ♥ this video.
It cracked me up so bad when I first watched it some weeks back!

Ladies & gentlemen, The P-Unit is here to represent all of their blue blooded
homies and drink some malt liquor iced tea beverages.

Tea Partay was brilliantly created by Smirnoff as part of a viral advertising
campaign via YouTube. The video is a wickedly satirical parody, and heavily
exploits the preppy theme. The song contains many references to the WASP
    (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) lifestyle.

For those who might be a little lost, here are the lyrics:

    P-Unit forever!

    [P-Unit! What's up fellas!]

Yo yo yo where my WASPs at?

    MV...Martha's Vineyard.... HOLLA BACK!

    Tell Buffy to chirp me!

    Yo!

    Straight outta Cape Cod

    We're keepin' it real

We're gonna have a party makes the ladies squeal

We're gonna turn it out with the parents' riches

We'll serve Smirnof raw tea and finger sandwiches

We keeps it real, by real we mean RICH

    From New Hampshire to Vermont

    From the Mainline to Greenwich

Cuz no one's harder than a New England gangsta

We drink raw tea on the South Wing veranda

    {Let's have a tea par...tay! x2}

My tea in the parlor makes the ladies holler!

    {Let's have a tea par....tay!}

Smirnoff raw tea lemon peach raspberry

We sail on yachts and we ride on horses

Every meal we eat comes in multiple courses

When it's time to party, we have a tea party

And we keeps it real the OLD MONEY WAY

Haters like the counter Ivy League education

But they're just jealous cuz our families run the nation

Yo where's the love at the tea partay!

But if you're going to show send an RSVP our way

    {Let's have a tea par...tay}

My tea in the parlor makes the ladies holler

    {Let's have a tea par...tay}

Smirnoff raw tea lemon peach and raspberry

We play croquet and we go rollerblading

Hit up the homies on lock for insider trading

it's a tea partay from Maine to Narragansett

We may be vanilla but our labs are chocolate

Chillin' from our heads in white tennis visors

Right down to our toes in a pair of top siders

So now it's time to break

    Please will you promote

    Smirnoff raw tea parties

and we'll send a thank you note

    ... in cursive

    Hahaha.

The WASP lifestyle embodies the casual-yet-elegant spirit of America's leisure
class. Nowhere is the WASP lifestyle more prevalent than amongst the affluent
upper class families on the East Coast of the U.S.

Of course, the term WASP has slightly disparaging undertones. But hey, it's
undeniable that at once glamorous, mysterious, and out-of-reach to majority of
normal folks, the WASP lifestyle has influenced countless trends in the worlds
of fashion, home design, and pop culture.

As polos, loafers and nautical outfits infiltrate the world of fashion, lets take a
    look at some female
    WASP legends through the ages.

    Grace Kelly

    Jacqueline Kennedy aka Jackie-O

    Impeccable American socialite C.Z. Guest

And of course who can forget every teenage girl's style icon-
Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf and her chic Upper East Side sensibilities?
(not to mention she single-handedly brought back the headband)

Blair and her fellow WASP sweetheart, the swoon worthy Chuck Bass.

I've thus been unduly inspired for my fortnightly feature....so now just for fun,
    just for kicks...

Waited for Agri at her salon where she sat through nearly 6 hours of hair coloring and heaven
    knows what else!

The stylist testing out his Leica camera while we gamely modeled for him

After, she brought us to have a very late ramen dinner at Orchard Plaza, in this small
nondescript Japanese hole-in-the-wall frequented by Japanese expats. When the real Nihon-jins
eat there, you know it's gotta be the real thing!

LOOK AT THAT GINORMOUS CHUNK OF BUTTER
I think it was maybe 1/6 of an entire bar that you buy. Our friends were shocked, but I was
rubbing my hands in glee. In case you didn't know, I love loads of extra butter on everything
that has butter. Who cares about clogged arteries when the soup was going to be 'oyishi'.

The serving of char siew was generous too and very tasty. Gets a big thumbs up from me.

    Move over Ippudo!

Before Ippudo even came to Singapore recently (at Mandarin Gallery), we were frequenting it
in New York City, it was at St. Marks in the East Village, right by the NYU campus.

I always secretly thought it was rather over-rated and over-priced, and could not fanthom the 1
hour or more waits for dinner. And what is with the pathetic miserable 3 slices of thin char
    siew? Hmph, I'm still hungry.

My suspicions were confirmed by my Japanese friends in NYC who said Ippudo is not that
great and not even thought that highly of in their motherland.

Conclusion: Don't buy into the marketing hype of Ippudo!

    Moving on.....

The newly relaunched Mimolette is now La Maison:

The upstairs private dining function room is now converted to another party area with a
dancefloor, DJ booth, bar and lounge seats.

Funniest photo at Midas Touch's Night Shift in La Maison... couldn't resist each other's cute
    cheeks

The Shack at Tanjong Beach in Sentosa has shut down! But not to fret, renovations for their
spanking new and sleek Tanjong Beach Club are nearly complete. Can't wait to check it out at
    their soft launch next week.

One last hurrah for The Shack:

Last minute party with renowned DJ Darren Emerson at the decks

    With Mr Emerson himself :)

Off to The Shack's closing party....

Some volleyball fun in the sun first

    Cookies the dog is adorable

See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil.

We learnt the best drinking game ever, it brought more squeals and spills than 5-10, 7up or any
    other I've tried. "1...2....3.....drink!"

Gee, I suddenly feel like my growth is stunted...

Managed to balance on the ball with some help!

While we watched the blazing fire-twirlers :)

A healthy snack my mum lovingly prepares for me. Or so she says....

Strawberries, bananas and fruit loop cereal drizzled with plenty of Hershey's chocolate syrup.

    Yay or nay? ;)

Put on your Enchanted Mystical garb and join The Butter Factory's 4th Anniversary
celebrations- where you'll enter the fantastic kingdom of Butter, filled with the wonders of
    light, magic, music and booze.

Was looking forward to dancing and making lots of merry at this magical 4th Birthday party.

But first.... some fun filming work to do!

    Interviewing Butter's marketing manager mayor

'Tis brief romance with the 3/4 Drunk Prince.
Thou art more  3/4 sober than tipsy to me :)

What other adventures did I embark on?

Learnt about my future in the Fortune Booth. (I'm supposed to fall in love soon.. hmm really?)
Obtained eternal youth in the Magic Potion Stall (wowwhee I'll never need botox)
Displayed my dexterity in the Lord Of The Ring Toss
Capture my other worldly souls in the Merlin Magic Photo booth
Put my strength and speed to the test in the Rubber Knight Boat Race (I lost, boooo)

    Very cool!

But I never found the fabled Excalibutter sword...

Managed to take some shots in between filming:

    With other Butter creatures

Fighting Spiders producer... I'm sure you loved that channel 5 tv series :)

Must be a wizard of sorts

.... and I rode off into the sunset with great memories of the magical Kingdom of Butter.

  • This Rice is Nice

    From a forwarded email...

    AMAZING RICE FIELDS OF JAPAN

Looks ordinary enough...... but watch.... are these the new "alien crop circles"?

Stunning crop art has sprung up across rice fields in Japan , but this is no alien creation. The
    designs have been cleverly PLANTED!

Farmers creating the huge displays use no ink or dye. Instead, different colour rice plants have
been precisely and strategically arranged and grown in the paddy fields.

As summer progresses and the plants shoot up, the detailed artwork begins to emerge.

    A Sengoku warrior on horseback
has been created from hundreds of thousands of rice plants.
The colours are created by using different varieties of rice plants, whose leaves grow in certain
colours. This photo was taken in Inakadate, Japan.

Napoleon on horseback can be seen from the skies. This was created by precision planting and
months of planning by villagers and farmers located in Inkadate , Japan .

Fictional warrior Naoe Kanetsugu and his wife, Osen, whose lives are featured on the
television series 'Tenchijin' appear in fields in the town of Yonezawa in the Yamagata
    prefecture of Japan .

This year, various artwork has popped up in other rice-farming areas of Japan , including
designs of deer dancers. Smaller works of 'crop-art' can be seen in other rice-farming areas of
Japan such as this image of Doraemon (SO CUTE!) and deer dancers.

The farmers create the murals by planting little purple and yellow-leafed Kodaimai rice along
with their local green-leafed Tsugaru, a Roman variety, to create the coloured patterns in the
time between planting and harvesting in September.

The murals in Inakadate cover 15,000 square meters of paddy fields.

From ground level, the designs are invisible, and viewers have to climb the mock castle tower
of the village office to get a glimpse of the work.

Closer to the image, the careful placement of the thousands of rice plants in the paddy fields
    can be seen.

Rice-paddy art was started there in 1993 as a local revitalization project, an idea that grew
from meetings of the village committees. The different varieties of rice plantsgrow alongside
each other to create the masterpieces.

In the first nine years, the village office workers and local farmers grew a simple design of
    Mount Iwaki every year.

But their ideas grew more complicated and attracted more attention.
In 2005, agreements between landowners allowed the creation of enormous rice paddy art.
A year later, organizers used computers to precisely plot the planting of four differently colored
rice varieties that bring the images to life!

Truly a work of art :)
